DCHS Inclusion Week : Changes to Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Trans-equality Policies
Our LGBT+ staff network has developed a trans-equality policy because DCHS is committed to equality of opportunity for trans people throughout services, recruitment and employment, including supporting trans employees through any transitioning process. As an organisation we seek to provide a supportive environment for trans staff and patients, and create a culture and environment where trans people are able to thrive and are well supported during any process of transition.
The policy (trans-equality section can be found on pages 18 – 28) has been endorsed by Unison as an excellent example, has been shared with the Unison Trans network and shared as part of the launch of the Unison Trans ally training package.
