Well done Alison!
This shout-out came in complimenting Alison Garlick’s care and support for a patient.
‘I just want to give a big shout out to one of the community nurses from New Mills team, Alison Garlick.
Ali contacted me for support for a patient with huge bilateral oedematous feet. I visited the patients home with Ali and following some initial training & a little Actico magic (using the stirrup technique and reshaping of the limb), Ali has now managed to drastically reduce the oedema in the patients feet to the point where he has now been fitted with below knee ReadyWrap – using the new ReadyWrap Foot CT.
Needless to say, the patient is over the moon and is also able to get his own shoes on! The patient is wheelchair dependent with Motor Neurone disease, however, he has support from his wife who is very pro-active with his care, so a self-care garment was vital to ensure he was able to maximise his quality of life. Ali listened to the patient and was able to fulfil his and his wife’s needs.
I think this is a fantastic effort and wanted to give credit where credit is due.
Well done Ali it was a pleasure supporting you!'
