Our Partners
We play an important role within Joined Up Care Derbyshire (JUCD) – the partnership of health and care organisations across Derby and Derbyshire. This partnership will formally become an integrated care system from April 2022.
JUCD’s four main aims are:
- Improving population health and healthcare
- Tackling unequal outcomes and access
- Enhancing productivity and value for money
- Helping the NHS to support broader social and economic development.
Becoming an Anchor Institution
Alongside our primary function of providing high quality community-based health services for the people of Derbyshire, we also aim to play a significant and recognised role in community care by contributing to the local economy as an ‘anchor institution’.
Anchor institutions are typically non-profit, public sector organisations whose long-term sustainability is tied to the wellbeing of the populations they serve. The term ‘anchor’ refers to our connection to local population – for us this means jobs for local people as one of Derbyshire’s larger employers; and sourcing services and goods locally to support the county’s businesses.
