About us
The Derbyshire Family Health Service is delivered through the Healthy Child Programme. It offers a comprehensive programme of screening, immunisations, developmental reviews, information and guidance to support parenting and healthy choices which enhance a child or young person's life chances.
The Healthy Child Programme provides individual and tailored support to ensure that children receive appropriate referrals to specialist services and that families are signposted to wider support systems. The programme will ensure that each family receives support that is appropriate for their needs with the most vulnerable families receiving additional support in partnership with education and other agencies.
The 0 – 19 service consists of specialist community public health nurses who are health vsitors and school nurses. They are supported by community staff nurses, health child assistant practitioners, healthy child support workers, health care assistants, admin teams, breastfeeding peer support workers and infant feeding specialists.
